The Boy Who Lived

Three days after finishing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I find myself still thinking about it... even my dreams have recently been filled with images of snakes, wands, scars, and spells. My enjoyment of this last tale of Harry Potter was not just in reading the thrilling conclusion of a great yarn, but also in having that final chance to be thoroughly absorbed in a book with freshly printed pages, unread by previous eyes, alone in my discovery of the story. Never again will any of us be able to have in our hands another new installment "in the epic tale of Harry Potter," and I held on to that thrill throughout my entire reading of the book. Whatever J.K. Rowling's critics (imagination-less pisspots is a phrase that comes to mind) may say, she certainly can't have become the most sucessful author in history for nothing. So from one muggle to another: Here's to you, Jo. Many, many thanks for the ride, the laughs, the tears, and the Bat-Bogey Hexes.
