Controversial?? I'll show you CONTROVERSIAL, BITCH.

The so-called controversial statements made by Obama's spiritual advisor Reverend Jeremiah Wright have become what, apparently, most people consider to now be the biggest bungle of Obama's campaign.

Even excusing the fact that these comments were made more than 5 years ago, I still want to vomit every time I'm forced to listen to politicians and pundits talk about how offended they are by Reverend Wright's sermons in which he used the words "Goddamn America" for supporting state terrorism against Palestinians and South Africans, and lambasted US foreign policy for causing the attacks of 9/11.

If you're offended by the truth, then maybe you should get your head out of your ass and move. NEWSFLASH, PEOPLE: what Rev. Wright said is true. And the baseless backlash against Rev. Wright (and thereby Obama) is now the biggest campaign news story this year.

I really don't know what we are supposed to do with Americans who think that all Muslims are terrorists, or that 30 years of greedy corporate oil-guzzling American imperialism have not in any way caused people around the globe to despise us, Muslim or not. (No, what they hate is our freedom! OF COURSE.) Is the American media going to be complicit in yet another firestorm of fear propelled by pure ignorance? Yeah, let's just forget what the 5 years of hideous bloody war in Iraq have revealed (even if you already figured these things out long before 4,000 American soldiers and 600,000 Iraqis had to die.) Forget the truth. Saddam Hussein definitely planned 9/11 and gifted his vast collection of nuclear bombs to Osama Bin Laden, but who cares about the Middle East anyway because it's populated entirely by murderous, freedom-hating nutjobs who should all be blown to smithereens, if they don't do it to themselves first.

Speaking of evil, psychotic people of Middle Eastern descent hell-bent on destroying America, U. of Chicago professor Rashid Khalidi -- another Obama supporter who happens to be Christian, not Muslim -- was recently red-flagged by the media along with Rev. Wright for daring to suggest that "we owe reparations to the Iraqi people." Oh yeah, we definitely do NOT owe anything to Iraq for slaughtering its people, destroying its priceless historical treasures, and ripping the delicate fabric of its society apart for generations to come. We liberated them from the bonds of dictatorship and brought them democracy, they can figure out the rest.

What Rev. Wright said might be controversial to some, ("some" being ignorant, racist bigots) but rhetoric aside, the meaning of his words is true. America IS damned for supporting unjust policies around the world in the name of democracy, and 9/11 is the proof. What people really have a problem with is a presidential candidate who has surrounded himself with highly educated problem-solvers and progressive thinkers. Nevermind the real controversies: government-supported torture, a $3 trillion war, and the fact that the most infamous criminal in the world is still hiding out in a desert cave somewhere, most likely laughing himself silly at all of us.
